Sexual violence can leave survivors feeling that their lives have been torn apart.

The torn-paper face represents the physical and emotional scars left by rape and sexual assault, while also offering a sense of hope: with the right support, survivors can begin to put their lives back together.

The headline acknowledges what has happened while making an important distinction: the person responsible may have caused the damage, but they don't have to define what happens next. That's why the message isn't “report it.” It's “talk to us.”

It reassures survivors that, whatever happened and whenever it happened, Rape Crisis is there to listen when they're ready to talk to someone.

Most importantly, it gives survivors hope that they can write the next chapter of their lives, and that they don't have to do it alone.
